Matt completed his B.Sc. in Biochemistry (2022) and M.Sc. in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Bioprocessing (2023) from the University of Birmingham. For his M.Sc. he was awarded the John Brown prize for academic achievement, researching novel process analytical technologies for the continuous manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies under Professor Owen Thomas.
Matt joined the Micklefield lab in 2024 funded by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in BioDesign Engineering to work on synthetic biology approaches for developing improved polyene antifungal drugs.
