Isabelle Bruton

Isabelle graduated with MChem in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at The University of Manchester in 2022; having worked with both Professor Nicholas Turner in her third year project on the enzymatic synthesis of chiral piperidines, and Dr Sam Butterworth for her Masters project on the total synthesis and development of PI3K/Akt inhibitors using SAR profiles.

Isabelle joined the group in 2022 as a PhD student as part of the BBSRC DTP and is working towards the development and synthesis of novel antimicrobial compounds, utilising integrated catalytic methods including engineered enzymes.

Outside of the lab she plays netball for the uni staff team, enjoys running, hikes, and loves house plants!
