Saadia Nasr studied for an MS degree in Industrial Biotechnology at the National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan) from 2013-2015. Her work involved screening potential polyhydroxyalkanoate producing bacteria from different waste sources. Saadia achieved distinction in her MS degree and was awarded the Presidential Gold Medal. She went on to complete her PhD (2017-2021) in Micklefield Lab under the prestigious Deans Prize, awarded by the University of Manchester. Her PhD research was centred on the engineering of next generation polyketide antibiotics using post polyketide synthase tailoring enzymes. She continues to work as a Research Associate in Micklefield lab and her work involves natural product discovery and use of PKS enzymes to deliver new polyene antifungal compounds.
