Isobel Cordrey

Isobel completed her Bsc in Biological Sciences (Biotechnology) from the University of Edinburgh. In her final year project, she studied the use of genetic circuits to study the SOS response in E. coli with Dr Meriem El Karoui. During her studies she completed an internship using bioinformatics to investigate the evolution of the first eukaryotes with Dr Tom Williams at the University of Bristol funded by a Carnegie scholarship.

Isobel joined the group as a PhD student in September 2021 and is working towards engineering natural product pathways such as NRPSs and PKSs to produce novel therapeutics. As part of her studies, she will complete some of her research abroad at the A*STAR institute in Singapore.

When she is not in the lab she enjoys painting, baking, and watching exorbitant amounts of reality TV.
