Dr. Lujing Ren

Dr. LujLujinging Ren received her BSc degree in bioengineering from Nanjing Tech University (2006) and then continued to pursue her PhD degree in Biochemical Engineering with Professor He Huang in this university (2006-2011). She began her academic career as an Assistant Professor in Nanjing Tech. Her research work in Nanjing Tech is about the bio-production of lipid nutrition chemicals, including polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin K2. Her current research focuses on the modification of the polyunsaturased fatty acid synthase (polyketide-similar) to identify the regulation mechanism of double bonds formation and carbon chain enlongation in oleaginous microorganism. She joined Micklefield group as an academic visitor in June 2016 and her work is involved in the biosynthesis and biosynthetic engineering of nonribosomal peptides and other natural products.
