Dr. Ying Zhuo

Dr. Ying Zhuo received her MS degree in microbiology from Nanjing Agriculture University (2005). Following her PhD studies with Professor Lixin Zhang in Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2007-2010), she began her academic career as an Assistant Professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in IMCAS. She joined the Micklefield group in 2014 and her work is involved in the engineering of biosynthesis genes for improved production and structure diversification of natural products. Her research interests include synthetic biology, understanding biosynthetic and regulatory mechanisms of microbial secondary metabolism, pathway engineering and functional genomics of antibiotic producers.
