He spent the academic year 2008\/09 at the University of Strasbourg as an ERASMUS student where he completed a one semester research project, and in 2010 he did a summer internship supported by the\u00a0Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)\u00a0at the\u00a0Institute of Evolutionary \u2028Biology in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After completing his undergraduate degree, Daniel completed the MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology of the University of Manchester in the academic year 2011\/2012, supported by a studentship from the Caja Madrid Foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2012 Daniel started his PhD project with Prof Micklefield, co-supervised by Dr Anil Day, on the development of\u00a0riboswitch\u00a0expression\u00a0tools for use in plant biotechnology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Daniel is a native speaker of both English and Spanish, and can handle himself reasonably well in French. \u00a0In his spare time he enjoys reading, cooking, eating the stuff he cooked, spending a bit too long on Reddit for his own good, and tinkering with his computer and those of people foolish enough to let him.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Publications:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rewiring Riboswitches to Create New Genetic Circuits in Bacteria.\u00a0<\/strong>C.J.
